Research Creative Writing - Mark Haddon

 

'Mark Haddon is a recognized name in the contemporary English literature. His talent not only involves novel writing but extends to poetry writing, illustration and abstract painting. His major contribution to literature includes an adult novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' (Famous Authors, 2020).

I decided to write about Mark Haddon and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This book was the first English book I had read when I first moved to the United Kingdom. Also, I can relate to both stories. We are both talking about a kid, and both writings are easy to understand, I guess. I remember that I was delighted to read this book. It was recommended by a friend that said to me that it was a good book for me to start getting familiar with English. I had such a great time reading this and having this feeling accomplished by reading my first English book. The writing was easy to understand. I genuinely recommend this book to anyone who wants to start reading. The story is quite exciting, and I like how Mark Haddon has written this. 

'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time takes place in the year 1998 in and around the town of Swindon, England. The fifteen-year-old narrator of the story, Christopher John Francis Boone, discovers the slain body of his neighbor’s poodle, Wellington, on the neighbor’s front lawn one evening and sets out to uncover the murderer' (Spark Notes, 2022).

A curious fact about both characters is that I decided to name my character Francis but also Mark Haddon character has Francis in the name.
