Chapbook - Blurb Software
I can finally say that my writing is finished, and the book is almost ready. Now, it is time to start creating my cover pages and the book layout. I have found a website with free copyright images that I can use for this project.
After I had to start to create my book on Blurb, a program that allows us to create many different layouts and explore many other things. This was my first time using this. I found it challenging to navigate and found the place for some things. However, things are doing well, and some time to explore also helps me with the process. From what I can see on the program, and without much knowledge about the topic, I can see that I am pretty detailed and with many features that I can include in a book.
I first started the software, and it comes to a first page where I can choose if I want to create from a blank canvas or have the design from one of the templates in the software. I choose the Everyday classic to start with my design. Classic = Good option.
After choosing which layout I wanted for my pages, I chose the Standard Portrait because it is the standard way that I am used when reading book and easier for most people.
Now is the time to choose which cover type I want. I have opted for the softcover version because it is cheaper. I'm thinking to print this for memory, and I don't want to invest too much, so this could be the best option.
This looks like the standard layout that I have chosen on the cover. After this, I will start editing this with my images and text.
By pressing the blue button at the top I can start for select the picture that I want for my cover.
After uploading the image, I understood what I wanted the picture to look like on the cover. Using some tools such as cropping and other adjustments, I could know where I was going with the first image onto my book.
I am delighted with the final look of the cover. I have found this black and white image that almost looks like a draw. This was my initial idea, and I could easily find one at PixaBay. This image can relate easily to my character, Francis. And the fact is minimal, and black and white can easily be remembered, I guess.
Good work here - it is looking good and some great detail here - I really am looking forward to reading this!
