The Chapbook: Planning

What is your final idea?  Please explain in two sentences the theme and the form your writing will take.

I will create a Chapbook and my theme will be "Discovery". I want to make this easy to read for everyone, including children. I will focus in one character that will experience a life changing moment. This will be a narrative and will including some images.I will use Blurb to finish my book.

Considering the form, how do you intend to layout your book pages?

My chapbook will be a narrative.

How many pages do you expect there will be?

The Chapbook will have between 10 to 13 pages depending on my writing and images that I will include in the project.

Are you going to use images?  Are these your own images (illustrations/photographs) or copyright free images that you will source?  

Yes I want to include some images to illustrate the book. I will, certainly, take some copyright free images from the Internet.

What is the plan of your time and how much you will need to spend on this?

Remember writing is something that you will need time and concentration without disturbance - you must make sure that you plan time to do this.

I will take a few hours, maybe 3 to 4 hours to focus on this and have a final piece completed. This will be reviewed and then added to Blurb.

 

What do you imagine the final book will look like? 

I want for the Chapbook to look simple and focused manly in the story. However, some images will be added but not in every page.

 

Have you considered the cover page/contents page/back cover with blurb?

I want a minimal cover page, with a simple draw that I will do or I will ask someone to do it. The back cover page will include some information about myself and some sort of explanation for the book. 

 

Drafting and redrafting will need to be done?  Who would you get to proofread your work?

I am expecting to write and of course the first attempt will be a draft. 

I will ask some friends to do the proofread.
